Lead Web UI Developer

As the lead Web UI Developer you will have the exciting opportunity to work on the bleeding edge of consumer services, in particular developing innovative social networking features that bridge the worlds of desktop computers and mobile phones as part of a tight-knit product team. You will play a key role in on-going product development, including designing and implementing the UI foundation for the product, spearheading the translation of design requirements into functional prototypes and ultimately a released product. You should be prepared to take a technical leadership role in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates should be technically savvy with expertise in UI architecture design principles, cross-browser compatibility, and standards-compliant HTML, XHTML, and CSS. Because mbuzzy is accessible from mobile phone browsers as well as the desktop prior experience developing WAP-based interfaces for mobile browsers is preferred. Being well organized with an attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills, and proven technical aptitude are essential.
Requirements
- 5+ years of large-scale consumer-focused web development experience
- Expert-level proficiency in designing and implementing scalable UI architecture (CSS, modularization, shared components)
- Expert-level proficiency in standards-compliant CSS / XHTML
- Expert-level proficiency in cross-browser compatibility
- Proficient in working in a UI templating environment, preferably Smarty
- Proficient in technical production: creation of HTML pages from Photoshop mockups and visual wireframes, working closely with design / product team
- Experience interacting with other developers while working in a dynamic, AJAX-based environment, preferably based on JQuery
- Experience developing WAP-based interfaces using XHTML-MP preferred
- Passion for User Experience and interest in Mobile applications is a must
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger engineering team
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience preferred
