Senior Media Buyer

Headquartered in the heart of San Francisco's SOMA District, SendMe Mobile is a well-funded mobile startup that offers direct to consumer mobile entertainment through three properties -- www.sendmemobile.com, www.solow.com, www.mbuzzy.com. As a successful venture-backed startup and the fastest growing player in the red hot, direct-to-consumer mobile entertainment space, SendMe Mobile develops and markets a great portfolio of fun products for cell phones on all the top mobile carriers - things like ringtones, interactive games, horoscopes, wallpapers, interactive games, etc. We currently have about 50 employees and a lively & fun work style.
POSITION SUMMARY
SendMe presents a unique opportunity for an experience media buyer to play a critical role in generating revenue and growth for our company. The media buyer will be responsible for prospecting, negotiating, acquiring and growing relationships with large portals, targeted high traffic web sites, social networks, co-registration service providers, and email marketers. The media buyer will report to the VP of Marketing and assist in developing sales strategies and negotiation tactics. This is a critical role for the company and one with significant compensation upside as successful relationships are closed.
This position requires an aggressive deal-oriented person. The ideal candidate should have experience prospecting, negotiating, and managing partnerships and/or client relationships. The successful candidate will have a long rolodex of contacts in the online media & lead generation world, and a comprehensive knowledge of online lead generation programs including contextual/organic search, affiliate marketing, co-registration, email and other online media. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are critical in this role, and the individual will need to be completely focused on closing new traffic deals that will be accretive and beneficial to SendMe Mobile.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify & prospect potential partners, define partnership structure, negotiate terms, and execute on the deal
- Negotiate pricing and trafficking on a CPA/CPC/CPM basis which meet cost of acquisition targets
- Work closely with partners to build rapport and relationship
- Continuously monitor, analyze, and manage partners to ensure delivery and optimization of the campaigns
- Provide monthly forecasting to ensure adequate inventory to meet company targets
- Research/study new marketing channels and emerging trends in media buying and maximize opportunities for company growth and demand for quality leads
Requirements
- 2-5 years of successful media buying experience, preferably at a lead generation or ad trafficking network
- Strong rolodex of contacts in the online media & lead generation world, and a comprehensive knowledge of two or more of the following channels: contextual/organic search, affiliate marketing, co-registration, email, and online display media
- Familiarity with or previous experience marketing direct-to-consumer mobile products is a plus
- Proven negotiation and relationship management skills, including strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Solid analytical and quantitative skills, with strong attention to details
- Must be self motivated, performance driven, creative, and enjoy working in a collaborative and entrepreneurial team environment
- B.A/B.S. degree preferred
