Server Software Engineer
Job Type: Full Time
Location: San Francisco
We are seeking a Server Software Engineer that will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of our core and messaging gateway platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and develop new features/functionality within our Core API and underlying messaging platform
- Interact with business product managers to gather and maintain project requirements
- Proactively participate in maintaining team standards and best practices
- Own your own projects - pursuing a combination of things that need to be done and things you want to do.
- Ensure high volume, high performance, stability, and support of the features you build
- Proactive attitude and a willingness to “go the extra mile” to get the job done well.
- Highly flexible attitude and ability to shift gears at a moment's notice.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related disciplines
- 3+ years of relevant software engineering experience in Java
- Practical experience with OOP, Linux based development, distributed architecture environments, and high volume service oriented architectures
- Demonstrated ability to own and lead design and development efforts
- Experience with application servers and servlet containers (includes the ability to configure and deploy)
- Working with an RDBMS (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle)
- Comfortable working with small teams of developers and business teams on tight deadlines.
- Highly flexible and extremely efficient, don't mind multiple iterations on the way to the right answers.
