Russell Klein, Co-Founder and CEO
Russell has spent the last 16 years in the digital media industry. Prior to co-founding SendMe, Russell was SVP, Corporate Development and Strategy, for HandsOn Mobile (f/k/a Mforma), where he spearheaded the company's M&A efforts and grew the company from 70 to 800 employees by acquiring mobile media companies in Europe, Asia, and North America; he also helped fund the company during his tenure as an EIR at General Catalyst Partners. Prior to General Catalyst Partners, Russell was Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at CNET Networks, and a board member of several other companies in the media and online marketing spaces. Russell is an avid consumer of all things mobile and never starts his day without reviewing his SendMe Horoscope. Russell is a Libra.
Russell has a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Markus Mullarkey, Co-Founder and Head of Operations
Markus comes to SendMe with over 15 years of line management and operations experience. Prior to founding SendMe, he was the SVP, Sales & Marketing for Ebates Shopping and VP/General Manager of CNET Networks' email newsletter and subscription publishing businesses. Before that he held positions at Proctor & Gamble and Boston Consulting Group. Markus has been a mobile fanatic ever since getting one of the first Palm Pilots back when he was a wee lad, and is really excited now to have an excuse to buy all the latest phones (for testing, of course).
Markus has a degree in General Studies from Harvard and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Tom Santosusso, Co-Founder and Head of Product Development
Tom brings 16 years of Business and Product Development experience to SendMe. Most recently he was a consultant on Strategy / New Product Development for HandsOn Mobile (f/k/a Mforma) and for Digital Distribution / New Product Development for Gamespot.com. Prior to those positions Tom was based in the United Kingdom as VP, Global Business Development of CNET's International Media Group. He was also VP of Business & Strategic Development for ZDNet/Ziff-Davis/SOFTBANK and worked in Product Management at J&J Consumer Products. Tom has been interested in mobile since spotting Crockett (or was it Tubbs) with a classic white brick phone in an early Miami Vice episode. The fascination continues to this day and he can be spotted constantly working his iPhone, probably even when he shouldn't be.
Tom has a BS in Finance from Pennsylvania State University.
Nasos Topakas, CTO
Nasos brings over 20 years of Software Engineering and Information Technology experience to SendMe. Before joining the company, Nasos served as CTO and senior vice president of Engineering at StubHub, an online ticket marketplace, which was acquired by eBay in February of 2007. Nasos has also held the positions VP of Engineering at Eastman Kodak running KodakGallery.com (f/k/a Ofoto.com) and Vice President at Charles Schwab & CO.
Nasos received his B.S. in Computer Science from California State University, San Francisco.
Daniel Starr, Chief Acquisitions Officer
Daniel Starr was most recently the Vice President of Marketing for Blockbuster Inc. At Blockbuster Daniel oversaw the company's online media and marketing activities, including trend assessment, search engine optimization, tracking and analysis. Prior to his engagement with Blockbuster Daniel was the VP of Performance Marketing for Gorilla Nation Media. In 2004 Gorilla Nation acquired WebRoyalties, a company founded by Daniel, after only 8 months of operation. Daniel began his career online at Intermix Media as a Director of Business Development.
Daniel graduated with honors from Drexel University with a BS in Psychology.
Aurelie Guerrieri, Head of Marketing
Aurelie brings 10 years of Business Management and Marketing experience to SendMe. Most recently, she was Vice-President & General Manager at QuinStreet, a leading online lead generation company. While at QuinStreet, she launched, grew and managed several multi-million dollars Business Verticals; created the Marketing Optimization function; and oversaw all digital media customer acquisition for the Home Services and Financial Services Verticals. Prior to QuinStreet, Aurelie held positions at McKinsey & Co. and Valero. Aurelie loves that our little devices have become our lifelines for fun, work, family and friends.
Aurelie has an MSc in Chemistry from ENSCP and an MBA from College des Ingenieurs, and takes pride in the fact that no one at SendMe seems to be able to properly pronounce her name.
Tim Armandpour, Vice President of Engineering
Tim brings over 10 years of Technology and Management experience to SendMe. Before his present role leading the Product Engineering team Tim served as the Senior Director of Engineering at Yodlee. At Yodlee Tim managed Engineering, Software Support, and Personnel Management for several innovative financial products serving online banking industry. Tim's love for mobile was spawned in the days when it was actually cool to have an antenna on your car for your "car phone".
Tim has a BS degree in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego and has been awarded a U.S. Patent.
Gary W. Calega, Vice President of Business Development
Gary joins SendMe with over 11 years of experience in consumer internet and financial services. Previous to his new role, Gary ran eBay's Consumer Electronics business, including all of its business development, marketing, top user development and public relations initiatives. During his tenure, Gary grew the business by ten times, achieving over $800 million in annual revenue. Gary also created and managed eBay's Seller OnRamp department. Prior to eBay, Gary worked in the Financial Consulting and Assurance Practice of Ernst & Young LLP.
Gary has a BS degree from Villanova University and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania.
Josh Newman, Vice President of Business Development
Josh has spent the last 6 years leading Business Development initiatives in the Mobile Entertainment industry. Josh served as the Head of Business Development and Sales for Limbo, a provider of mobile promotions and integrated rewards programs. While at Limbo, Josh was instrumental in building partnerships and launching ground-breaking programs with several key accounts including Verizon Wireless, Boost Mobile and Spike TV. Prior to Limbo, Josh was Vice President of B2B Applications & Services for Mobliss, a Seattle-based provider of mobile marketing and content delivery services. He has also served as a Board Member of the Mobile Marketing Association.
Josh is a graduate of Yale University and a former officer in the United States Army.
Ryan Nobrega, Vice President of Product Development
Ryan brings 10 years of Consumer Mobile Product experience to SendMe. Most recently he was the Founder and CEO of mbuzzy, a leading innovator of mobile social networking in the US market, pioneering the relationship between the web and mobile phone. Before founding mbuzzy, Ryan led various product initiatives in Openwave's Product Management group, including its mobile portal offering adopted by wireless carriers across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
Ryan has a BA in Broadcast Communications from San Francisco State University.
