Beirut Biography
Wunderkind Zach Condon amazed audiences and critics alike with the 2006 debut album from his band Beirut. Combining songwriterly skills that recall the Magnetic Fields and Rufus Wainright with a passion for Eastern European folk music styles--especially Klezemer and Balkan brass bands--Condon created a unique musical hybrid that was at once adventurous and happily accessible. Beirut released the EP LON GISLAND in early 2007 as a stop-gap for fans eagerly anticipating their follow-up.
